Walt Wines/Hall Wines/Covering the best of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Walt Wines is the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay house of Hall Wines. They seek out the best growing areas and vineyards in California and Oregon to make the best wines from all these regions. The response to the two features with Hall Wines has been amazing! These are both great new features of the regions and vineyards.Starting in Anderson Valley, and ending up in Sonoma County, with two incredible Pinot Noir stories of these fabled wine growing regions. Our first feature is of Anderson valley and the "Blue Jay"Pinot Noir! The vineyard sources for “Blue Jay” Pinot Noir come from highly respected sites that reflect the preeminence of the appellation. Savoy, with its gently sloping hillsides and diverse clones, leads the way for elegance, spice and nuance. Anderson Creek brings concentration and structure, due to the sparse gravelly soils, while Annahalla rounds out the blend with richness of fruit and intensity of flavor. Ultimately, their WALT “Blue Jay” must possess delicacy, finesse and length, the calling card of great Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. The WALT “Blue Jay” Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is complex and ethereal, with blueberry, briar fruit and black tea flavors that skate on endlessly through the finish. While the wine is delectable now, it will provide enjoyment for an additional 3-5 years. We will then drive over the county line and into Sonoma County Pinot Noir heaven! The vineyards for our next feature, "La Brisa" blend are farmed meticulously for low yields and balance in order to capitalize on their distinctive sites. Each vineyard is blessed with cool maritime conditions and limiting soil profiles. As with all of their Pinot Noirs, they double-sort every berry before gravity-feeding it to tank to undergo an extensive cold soak period. Primary and malolactic fermentations are conducted using only native yeast and resident malolactic bacteria from the vineyard. The wines are never racked and during the long malolactic fermentation, we top and stir each barrel weekly. Prior to bottling, we blend the wines without fining or filtering. All of these natural, gentle processes are exacting and arduous, but vital when crafting the most honest expression of the vineyard. The WALT “La Brisa” Sonoma County Pinot Noir articulates the signature characters of Sonoma: vibrant and opulent with an underlying brightness and length to the palate. Teeming with ripe red berries and spicy toasted aromas, the wine is lush and persistent on the mid-palate while long-lasting and delicate on the finish. These are perfect food wines,I ask you to join us,We saved you a seat!Cheers!
