Rodney Strong Vineyards/Russian River Pinot Noir

Sononma County has come to the attention of Pinot Noir lovers all over the world.Rodney Strong Vineyards is located just outside of the town of Healdsburg. There are many different grape growing regions within a few miles of the winery. Today we feature the Russian River Pinot Noir from Rodney Strong Vineyards. Let's check out the tasting notes on this beautiful wine. The 2013 Estate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir has lovely aromas of cherry and rose petals. With a soft and silky texture on the palate, cherries, pomegranate, floral and baking spice characteristics shine through with balance, acidity and a nice lingering finish. This medium bodied wine was aged for 13 months in small French oak barrels, which added a hint of toasty vanilla and spice complexity. Enjoy this Pinot Noir now with a roasted chicken with a red wine butter reduction sauce, roasted pork loin or wild mushrooms over polenta or cellar it for enjoyment for the next two to four years. Technical Information Alcohol: 14.5% Total Acidity: 0.52 g/100mL Barrel Aging: 13 months in 100% French oak barrels, 35% new Vineyard: Russian River Valley Estate Pinot Estate Pinot 2013 was the kind of growing season that most would wish we could have every year: a dry, frost-free spring, a warm summer without heat spikes, and a warm rain free autumn that allows for picking all varieties in their turn when they are perfectly mature.
