Philo Ridge Vineyards/From The Top Of The World

We decided to open three more wines at the Philo Ridge tasting room, and Fred and I are both thinking about the need for a FEW different dishes to go with these beautiful wines.First a bit about the winery and on to the tasting notes before we pour a glass of wine and listen to our great feature. Philo Ridge Vineyards, located in the beautiful hills of the Anderson Valley in Mendocino County. We make small, handcrafted lots of eleven wines for a total of 2500 cases per year. Our award winning wines are produced by sustainable farming practices from vineyards in Mendocino County. 100% Vegan . . . 100% Wind & Solar Powered Winery 2012 Zinfandel Firebrick Vineyard will be our first wine. Philo Ridge Vineyards prides ourselves on making very approachable Zinfandel. This is not an over-the-top jammy or high alcohol style. 2012 was an exceptional growing year: not many big temperature swings, little frost, and no rain. Blackberries, cherries, and soft pepper spice with a lingering finish and brambly aromas. The higher acidity makes it a versatile food wine. This is our first wine from this vineyard and we are expecting great things. 100% vegan. Incredible!! now onto The 2013 Primitivo !! Both these wines are Amazing! This old world varietal gives a nose of blackberry, cinnamon stick, and mulled apples. The mouth is ripe mixed berries, dark chocolate, and a spice finish. A wine to pair with hearty dishes, pizza, and anything Italian. 100% Vegan. We start today with the 2014 Gewurztraminer from Philo Ridge Vineyards. This fruit forward, dry Gewurztraminer will transport you to a field of aromatic wild flowers. Close your eyes and taste flavors of fresh pineapple and mango. 100% vegan. We have poured three glasses of these wines and now will relax and click on the link and enjoy Learning more about Philo Ridge Vineyards!Cheers!
