Steele Wines/Jed Steele/California Zins

These are two of the Zinfandels coming from this great winemaker. The Catfish Vineyard is over 100 years old, and includes many different grapes, but mostly Zin. In the early days of California many people moved here with their own cuttings from their vineyards, in their home countries. The results were vineyards known as "field blends", with many different grapes planted together. Most of the time they were in the back yards of these early California Italians moving here from their home country. The Dupratt Vineyard Zinfandel is one of Mendocino County's best. Single vineyard Zinfandels are one of Jed Steele's specialties. But really you can say that about every different wine that this man makes. http://www.finewinesproductions.com/09shows/steele/CatfishZin07.mp3 http://www.finewinesproductions.com/09shows/steele/Dupratt05Zin.mp3
