"Bottle Of Red,Bottle of White"/Decoy Wines From Duckhorn

Since the inaugural vintage of The Decoy Napa Valley Red Wine more than 20 years ago, Decoy has taken an important place in the Duckhorn Wine Company family of wines. With a reputation for delivering great quality at a remarkable price, Decoy has established a loyal following for its distinctive style, which emphasizes ready-upon-release wines that are capable of expressing their full charm and complexity in their youth.Don Laborde has perfected this approach at Decoy. “It all starts with the vineyards, and our Sonoma County focus,” says Don. “Whether it’s Pinot and Chardonnay from Carneros, Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley or Bordeaux varieties from our own Ridgeline Vineyard in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County offers a range of world-class grapes.” To find the best of these grapes, Don has visited upwards of 200 vineyards for Decoy, searching for sites that meet Decoy’s exacting standards. In the winery, these grapes benefit from Decoy’s unique structure, which gives Don access to the four other Duckhorn winemakers, each of who collaborates with him to guide their specialty varietals through the blending process. “From vineyard selection right through to the final blends, Decoy benefits from an incredible amount of experience and knowledge.
