Chappellet Wines and Sonoma Loeb Wines/Phillip Titus And Cyril Chappellet

These features will introduce you to Chappellet Signature Cabernet and the Sonoma Loeb Sonoma County Chardonnay. The Signature Cabernet is an amazingly rich, complex and satisfying wine.Since being founded by Donn and Molly in 1967, Chappellet has earned acclaim championing the robust power and complexity of wines crafted from mountain grapes. At the same time, Chappellet has helped to establish Pritchard Hill as one of California’s most revered wine growing sites. To honor the mountain's rich, expressive character, the wine making team focuses on creating extraordinary, age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignons that embody the intensity and finesse of fruit from Pritchard Hill.In 1973, Ambassador John L. Loeb, Jr., owner of Sonoma-Loeb, acquired two prime parcels of vineyard: one on the Russian River and one in Alexander Valley. The vineyards are directly adjacent to the famous Robert Young Vineyard, the fruit source for one of the first vineyard-designated wines produced in California. Ambassador Loeb’s goal has always been to create a Chardonnay that emulates Le Montrachet, the greatest Chardonnay of France. Sonoma-Loeb wines are handcrafted with the most exacting techniques of modern viticulture. They are fermented and aged in only the finest French oak barrels and receive the care that is possible only when small quantities are made. Sonoma-Loeb has intentionally kept their volume at low levels, sacrificing quantity for quality. Sonoma-Loeb wines are vinified to meet the highest standards of the most demanding connoisseurs, and they are available only in limited quantities. Ambassador Loeb’s goal is to produce fine Chardonnays that reveal profound flavor and personality as soon as they are released for sale but also possess the ability to improve in the bottle with aging. Phillip Titus's determination to produce the best Chardonnay in California was apparent in the two Sonoma-Loeb wines we tasted. Phillip Titus is also the winemaker for the fabulous wines of Titus and Chappellet. These wines are very specialo and the area known as the Russian River and the Sonoma Coast wine growing regions are now known as some of the best vineyards in the world for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.Let's join Phillip Titus and Cyril Chappellet and learn more about these two incredible wines.
