Patz and Hall/Pinot Noir/Sonoma County
Excitement builds as I leave on a short road trip down into the Sonoma Valley. The morning is still cool and the vineyards are seas of green.A new and exciting vintage for this diverse and special wine growing region.Let's check out the tasting notes as today we will enjoy Pinot Noir from Patz and Hall.
Alder Springs Vineyard
2012 Mendocino Pinot Noir
Without question, this is our favorite Alder Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir in years. While Alder Springs always delivers compelling savory and spice elements, the 2012 also showcases lovely, focused fruit, with layers of raspberry, cassis and Santa Rosa plum, as well as intricate floral and mineral notes that make it quite focused and elegant. Overall, there’s sense of harmony to the composition of this wine, like all of the pieces of a puzzle falling perfectly into place.Patz and Hall has an amazing new location,I will be arriving there any minute.I can't wait to enjoy the wines and the new Tasting room.
Located just north of the Eighth Street wineries, within biking distance of Sonoma Square and the shops of downtown Sonoma, The Sonoma House at Patz & Hall offers our visitors a one-of-a-kind wine tasting experience. Our new home offers the opportunity to relax as you look out over our estate vineyards tucked along the edge of the Mayacamas Mountains while enjoying our acclaimed Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs.
