California Wine Country Excursion/"The Discussion"/Duckhorn Vineyards/Applewood Restaurant and Inn

After doing these features with winemaker Renne Ary,I decided to save these 2 wines for the end of the features.Over three decades ago, before crafting their first vintage, the Duckhorns and their winemaker had a passionate discussion at the kitchen table. Though they debated making a cuvée, they chose to focus on varietal wines. Even so, Duckhorn Vineyards has always remained fascinated by the artful blend of varietals from diverse Napa Valley vineyards. Embodying the depth and complexity of a world-class Estate program, The Discussion represents the pinnacle of the Duckhorn Vineyards portfolio and the ongoing dialogue that defines great wine making. Our second wine is the Patzimaro Vineyard Cabernet. This vineyard is in the St. Helena appellation at the base of Spring Mountain,in the heart of Napa Valley. The site was named after the town of Patzimaro de Aviña in honor of the Hurtado Family, an essential part of the Duckhorn Vineyards winemaking team who migrated from this small village to the Napa Valley in 1987. The vineyard enjoys high daytime temperatures that help to fully ripen the grapes and cool evenings that allow the fruit to retain the natural acidity needed to create balanced, elegantly structured wines. I couldn't think of a better place to enjoy these two world class wines than the Applewood Restaurant and Inn.This Sonoma Boutique Wine Country Inn with its 19 rooms and suites, Fine Food Restaurant and Day Spa, is located one hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge at the heart of the Russian River Pinot Noir growing region. Sheltered by towering redwoods and surrounded by fruit orchards and gardens, Applewood Inn is a Bed and Breakfast romantic getaway that provides adults a secluded and peaceful refuge to unwind, rejuvenate and re-connect.Join me now as I enjoy all the above and would love to share with you!We saved you a seat!Cheers! Click here and let's enjoy a California Wine Country Excursion.
