Duckhorn Vineyards/Great Napa Valley White Wines/

At Duckhorn Vineyards, they have been making wine using grapes from the finest Napa Valley vineyards for over 35 years. Building on this rich history, the Duckhorn Napa Valley Chardonnay balances the complexity and richness of Napa Valley. The 2013 harvest was early, even and excellent with all of Duckhorn's Estate fruit in the winery by October 10th. A warm dry spring brought an early bud break and created ideal conditions for flowering and fruit set. In the weeks after Labor Day, a moderate heat event followed by a period of perfect weather created a dream scenario for end-of-season ripening. Rain was not a factor, and for the second vintage in a row, the quality of the grapes was exceptional throughout Napa Valley. When I think of Duckhorn Vineyards,I think of their beautiful, rich, bold red wines.Today we will focus on the two white wines coming from this fabled Napa valley winery.I have always loved their Sav Blanc, and now have added the Napa valley Chardonnay from Duckhorn Vineyards to my list of Favorite white wines.Let's join winemaker Renee Ary and learn more about these two great wines from Duckhorn vineyards and the great Napa valley Valley. In early 2014, Renée became the fourth name on the short list of Duckhorn Vineyards winemakers that began with Tom Rinaldi in 1978. As winemaker, Renée works in small lots to preserve the rich complexity of the fruit in the Duckhorn winegrowing program. “From our own Estate vineyards to legendary sites like Three Palms, I am incredibly fortunate to work with some of Napa Valley’s most exceptional grapes,” says Renée. “When you work with fruit of this quality, there is no recipe or formula. My job is to let the vineyards speak and convey the soul of the wine.”Cheers! Click here and join us as we learn of the new Chardonnay from Duckhorn Vineyards.
