Kiona Vineyard and Winery Washington State

Chenin Blanc is a grape that Kiona has been working with almost since the beginning of the winery.Wine maker Scott Williams makes a great wine from these grapes, and really makes two wines. The new release of the Chenin Blanc bring us a wine that is a perfect for many dishes.I recently did a show with a dessert chef and the chenin was a star with the desserts as well as the main courses. The second wine made from these grapes is the newest vintage of the Kiona Ice Wine.If you like sweet wines this one is a must.Making this wine is a labor of love,as it takes a lot of time and effort. Thanks Kiona and Scott Williams...this might be the best Ice wine yet! http://www.finewinesproductions.com/08shows/kiona_vineyard/chenin_blanc_07.mp3

Kiona Ice Wine

They had no problem making ice wine this year! Wow, this wine is great! To make an ice wine you have to freeze the grapes on the vine. When the temperature drops to 18 -20 degrees the grapes are ready to harvest. These grapes become little “BB's” of extract juice. Washington State does a great number of ice wines and this is one of the best. This is great with dessert, or as dessert....Scott points that out, I believe! Listen to Kiona Winery Ice Wine Feature
